Thousands of mentally ill New Yorkers will be moved from adult homes to let them live more independently - NY Daily News: "The state will move up to 4,000 mentally ill New Yorkers from adult homes into “supported housing” apartments over the next five years as part of a deal reached Tuesday with the Justice Department.
“Today’s settlement agreement reaffirms the right of people with disabilities to live independently and participate in all aspects of community life,” said Deputy Assistant Attorney General Eve Hill."
